In August, we hit pause.
Our pups still ate every single night.
809 bracelets. 8,090 meals funded. A vacation, puppies, a growing pack, and Gratte-Gratte, who we can't find anymore.
Hey, everyone.
You may have noticed Feedogs ads disappeared from your screens for a while in August. That's because we were on vacation. A real one. The kind where you switch everything off.
We hadn't taken a single day off since January. So we spent a week unwinding on Réunion Island, and honestly, it did us a world of good.
But we couldn't leave with the bowls empty. So while we were away, friends in Mauritius took over the feeding runs. They'll be joining the association soon, and we'll tell you more once it's official. What matters is this: every night, our pups ate. Even without us. And that might be the best news of the month.
What we've built since January holds up even when we're not there. And that might be the best proof of how far we've come.
63,590 meals. Since day one.
We want to be straight with you about something, because August made it crystal clear.
The week our ads were off, we sold about fifty bracelets. Fifty. In a whole week. When we got back, we had to push hard to make up for the month.
Why are we telling you this? Because we'd rather you understand how it really works. Without ads, a Feedogs video gets 200 views. With ads, it gets hundreds of thousands. That's what lets us sell thousands of bracelets, and fund tens of thousands of meals. It isn't cheap, we won't lie to you. But it's what keeps everything else running.
No ads vs. ads. The difference is striking.
So now you know everything. We'd rather be transparent about it than pretend the money falls from the sky.

Spay/neuter. We're getting serious.
We've been talking about it since the May poll, and now it's starting to get real.
We've started getting a sense of pricing for real spay/neuter campaigns. Not one or two surgeries. Campaigns. We're actively looking into how to fund all of it, with whom, and under what conditions.
And we won't hide it: it's complicated in Mauritius. There aren't many vets, clinics aren't always equipped, and you need trappers, logistics, people you can trust. But there are solutions. We're exploring them one by one. We'll keep you posted as soon as we have something solid to show you.
An association in Mauritius too.
The Feedogs Association is registered in France, you know that. But we're also going to set up an association directly in Mauritius in 2027.
It'll make a ton of things easier. Partnerships with local vets, permits, equipment, everything that happens on the ground. And it'll save us from a pretty dumb but very real problem we're dealing with right now: banks.
A simple transfer in euros to an account in Mauritian rupees costs €20 to send and €20 to receive. That's €40 gone in fees for nothing. So we send one big transfer at a time.
Open donations are coming in October.
We promised, and it's happening. Starting in October, you'll be able to give any amount you choose to the Feedogs Association.
And we want to be very clear about one thing right now. Donations will never pay for a single ad. Nothing but the cause. Meals, spay/neuter, vet care, the work on the ground.
Bracelets will keep funding the whole ecosystem. Ads, logistics, everything that lets us sell thousands of bracelets and help hundreds of dogs. The two work together. Bracelets keep the machine running. Donations go straight into the bowl.
Three zones now.
When we got back to our feeding runs, something hit us.
A year ago, we were feeding a few dogs along one dirt road. Today we have three big zones, three different packs, and new faces almost every week. It happened on its own. One dog brings another, one pack settles in, another moves on.
Five puppies, and one who's scared of nothing.
Five puppies in our usual zone. There are several females hanging around the area, and we think their mom is out there somewhere. They're curious, they come right up to us, they haven't learned to be wary of humans yet. We're soaking up this moment, because it never lasts long.
And there's one we already adore. He spends all his time barking at the older dogs, playing the rebel, picking fights. The big guys don't even notice him. He yaps, he gets worked up, he keeps at it, and nothing. Zero effect.
It's hilarious to watch. We're keeping an eye on this one.
Snow set things straight.
A newcomer showed up in the zone a few weeks ago. A dog acting way too tough, like, I'm the boss around here.
Snow wasn't having it. You know her, she's been with Gratte-Gratte's pack from the start. She put him in his place right away. No fight, just a clear message. Since then, the new guy's been on his best behavior.
These packs have their own rules. We feed them, we watch, and we learn.
And Gratte-Gratte.
This part is harder for us to write.
We haven't seen him in a month.
You know, we're used to dogs vanishing for a while and coming back. Bandit did it. Mama does it all the time. But they're wanderers. They have their routes, they come and go. Gratte-Gratte isn't like that at all. He's always been in the same spot. Every night. The first to show up when we turned off the engine, the first to snuggle up against us for scratches.
His pack is there. Snow is there. His buddies are there. But not him.
We won't lie to you, we're worried. We keep coming by, we look around, we ask the locals. As soon as we know anything, we'll tell you. Good or bad.
Thank you.
We took a vacation, and you kept going. 809 bracelets while we were resting. Honestly, we didn't see that coming.
Tonight in Mauritius, our pups eat. Like yesterday. Like tomorrow. And if Gratte-Gratte comes back, his bowl will be waiting.
They were abandoned. They have no one.
Except you.
